A career in the mining industry is certainly appealing and there are many opportunities open to successful, hardworking candidates. There are many options with regard to a career in mining – from mining manager to mine designer or consulting engineer. Mining engineers are generally well remunerated and most mining companies offer attractive fringe benefits.

The University of Pretoria , University of Witwatersrand and Universitity of Johannesburg have more information on pursuing a career in the mineral industry as well as a number of mining companies also offer bursaries to study mining engineering.
